Areas of Personal Injury Practice
Michael W. Goldstein is a well seasoned lawyer, who has been practicing New York personal injury law since 1979.  Although almost all of our personal injury practice is currently devoted to representing injured plaintiffs, in the past, we have represented several insurance companies in the defense of accident cases.  Accordingly, we have the advantage of knowing both plaintiffs’ and defendants’ strategies in New York personal injury litigation.  We represent victims of the following types of accidents:

Motor Vehicle Accidents including accidents caused by uninsured or underinsured drivers, hit and run accidents, accidents involving a taxi, car service or other livery vehicle, accidents involving a bus, truck, or other commercial vehicle, pedestrian accidents, bicycle accidents, etc.

There are more issues in a New York motor vehicle accident case than merely proving the client’s injuries and the defendant’s negligence.  New York auto accident cases often involve various additional legal issues in the areas of New York No-Fault Law, New York Uninsured Motorist Law, and optional New York Underinsured Motorist coverage (also known as Supplementary Uninsured Motorist Coverage).   Michael W. Goldstein’s many years of representing seriously injured accident victims has given him extensive experience in each of these areas of New York personal injury law.  Michael W. Goldstein’s clients can be assured that they are thoroughly represented in all aspects of their accident case by a highly experienced accident lawyer.

Premises Accidents including accidents caused by dangerous or defective conditions, improper maintenance, repair or cleaning, overcrowding, insufficient supervision, improper security, or other negligence

Michael W. Goldstein has successfully represented many clients who were seriously injured as a result of dangerous conditions in stores, restaurants, office buildings, apartment buildings, subways, parking lots, or on sidewalks.  Many types of hazards are caused by negligent ownership, maintenance, repair or supervision.  His vast experience representing clients injured in premises accidents is not limited to the routine trip and fall, or slip and fall cases.  In addition, he has successfully handled accidents caused by hidden stairways, improperly attached railings, inadequate illumination, and other hazardous conditions.

Construction Site Accidents including falls from defective ladders and scaffolding; accidents involving defective hoists; accidents caused by dangerous construction site conditions, or other unsafe working conditions; violations of worker safety rules including OSHA; and other accidents occurring at construction sites

Michael W. Goldstein’s clients include construction workers who were seriously injured in the course of their employment.  Construction site accidents in New York may involve many of the same principles of negligence that governs other personal injury cases, but may also involve the New York State Labor Law, as well as other rules and regulations.  Construction site accidents may be caused by the client falling from a defective ladder or scaffolding, the property owner’s failure to provide required safety belts or other safety equipment, objects falling from heights and striking the plaintiff, improper operation of construction vehicles such as a truck, back hoe, bulldozer, etc., or other dangerous conditions created by the property owner, general contractor, subcontractor, or any company other than the injured person’s employer.

State of the Art Case Management System
All personal injury cases in our office are entered in a sophisticated computer case management system, which we have customized to best serve our practice..  This system insures immediate access to all aspects of each case.  This enables us to provide accurate and timely information to each client, and to timely respond to requests made by treating physicians, other attorneys, insurance companies, and the court.  Also, our system expedites the preparation of letters, forms and legal documents, thereby assuring timely service and filing of important documents.
